Yasmine Matter: I want to be something valuable to society

Major:  Communications and Marketing.

Career ObjectivesJournalist, Teacher and Graphic designer. I want to be something valuable to the society.

What do you need to succeed? Some one to give me a chance but right now all I know is that I have to work hard and be prepared. I know Editors who want me to write for them but when I write about social issues and local biograpahies, I don't receive encouragement. They want news about violence and that kind of stories every day which I think can make people sad and scared. I want to encourage and give hope but be honest about problems and how to solve them.

What are your strengths? I love to learn and never stop to understand myself. I learned at Mar Elias that learning is a lifelong pursuit; Even after earning my degree, I have to constantly stay up to date with work and personal skills. Also my faith in God, and my confidence in my family give me courage to not give up.

Something about you most people don't know:  People who first meet me will never believe how many worries I have because I always smile. It’s important to have a good attitude but sometimes life is hard. Now I am 22 years old and have a degree with one year experience in newspaper and one year in graphic designer. I know I have to focus on the things I can do myself and hope for a company to give me a chance to prove myself.
