NAI faculty use the "P.E.T." teaching model developed at the University of Indianapolis. P.E.T.—which stands for practice, education and theory—describes an approach that combines core knowledge, specialized study and field training in the educational process. The approach allows all students to gain exposure to a liberal arts peace core, which we believe is the foundation for responsible participation in a multicultural society. The core is then complemented by concentration in students’ chosen field of study, which is itself enhanced by career-oriented practical experience to increase students’ competitiveness in the Israeli job market.
